MAJOR PURPOSE:
Plans, coordinates, and performs ergonomic engineering work for a project or process.
Operates in a team environment within either the enterprise product delivery process or the enterprise order fulfillment process.
At this level, projects are of limited scope and responsibility; work plans and decisions are made within established guidelines and may be reviewed by supervisors and/or managers.
May assign coordinate and review portions of the work for support personnel and contractors.
MAJOR DUTIES:
Ergonomics is about fitting the work to the capability of the worker.
An Ergonomics Engineer uses basic ergonomics principles that can be applied in the manufacturing environments to make work more productive, efficient, and safe for our employees.
Identifies and implements safety and ergonomic improvement ideas/technologies for new/current manufacturing processes.
This position works closely with UAW Continuous Improvement Lead, Operators, Manufacturing Engineers, Supervisors, and Business Unit Leaders across all Drivetrain assembly departments.
Utilizes ergonomic software's and tools to gather data, analyze data and generate reports for pre and post improvements.
Collaborates with client Product Design Engineers, Safety Leads and Early Intervention Specialist proactively and supports all safety incidents including any corrective actions.
Train and Coach the teams on Ergonomic Principals, Risk Factors, Ergonomics Standards and Design for Manufacturing Principles.
Develop and facilitate Ergonomics Improvement Events.
