Essential Functions/ Job
Responsibilities:

Assist the Food Service Director with ordering of food and supplies and assist with inventory across locations when needed.
2.
Assist Food Service Director with Free and Reduced Lunch Applications and necessary reporting.
3.
Work with food service technology programs and be subject matter expert of programs when the Food Service Director is not available.
4.
Make recommendations to the Food Service Director when new equipment may be necessary.
5.
Ensure that clean working environments are maintained and provide oversight to all CVCS kitchen locations, including sharing best practices of sanitation, food handling, proper disposal, and use of equipment.
6.
Partner with food service managers and the food service director to resolve problems as they arise and take a proactive approach to avoid issues when necessary.
7.
Work in each kitchen monthly to ensure current knowledge of processes at each location.
8.
Assure that kitchens across CVCS are appropriately staffed daily and fill in as needed.
In the event of a long-term absence, may need to fill in.
9.
Prepare prompt and accurate records and reports as required by administration, state and federal guidelines.
10.
Ensure compliance with OSHA Regulations (i.
e.
Bloodborne Pathogens, etc).
11.
Attend workshops and keep current on trends in the foodservice industry to ensure best food is served to students at lowest cost.
12.
Support and promote the philosophy of Catholic education and contribute to building a spirit of unity within the school and the Cedar Valley Catholic School System.
13.
Comply with the rules and objectives of the school, Cedar Valley Catholic Schools and the Archdiocese of Dubuque.
14.
Promote positive public relations with staff, parents, and the public in all daily contact whether it be by phone, email or in person interactions.
15.
Engage in positive public relations and promote our schools mission, vision and values through daily interactions with the community.
16.
Other duties as assigned.
The physical demands of this position include the need to be on your feet for extended periods of time, lift up to 50 lbs, bend, twist and reach as needed to set up for events and meet essential functions of the job.
