Summary/Primary Purpose:
The Youth Ministry and Outreach Director is a ministry position responsible for the overall delivery of ministry and youth development services for youth (kindergarten through high school).
This includes oversight of spiritual and youth development through the Youth Center.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Direct the development, implementation and evaluation of programming that meets the goals and objectives of the Corps.
Utilize/develop curriculum and activities that meet the needs of other Salvation Army program participants.
Plans daily and weekly schedules of activities on a rotation basis, which will compliment current community center programming to enhance youth development as it relates to spiritual, physical, emotional, mental, and social development.
Responsible to mentor youth by providing spiritual direction and emotional support.
Develop outreach initiatives that target youth and their families to include developing strong community relationships, attend networking opportunities, and lead collaborative efforts to build a mentoring and educational opportunities for youth.
Responsible to schedule, train youth support staff and volunteers as needed for various programming needs.
Assist in the recruitment of volunteers for corps youth ministries and training of.
Responsible for the reporting all statistics and outcomes of the center related to youth development.
May be required to attend conference, seminars and workshops for professional growth in Youth Ministry.
This is a ministry position that will support, lead, and help grow youth ministries on Sunday, and therefore requires active attendance for Sunday activities.
This position will be required to work weekends, holidays and evenings outside of normal work schedule and will be required to attend church on Sundays.
Driving is an essential duty of the position.

Education and/or
Experience:
BA or BS in a related field.
A minimum of three years of experience working with youth, ministry, or related field.

Qualifications:

Ability to be flexible, prioritize and work on multiple projects or tasks simultaneously.
Advanced Microsoft Office skills and the ability to access data systems via a web-based system.
Administrative skills to include utilization of standard office equipment, data entry, attention to details and filing.
Good communication skills both written and spoken, and ability to maintain effective working relationships.
Mathematical skills to include add, subtract, multiply, divide, use of common fractions and decimals.
Demonstrated ability to handle confidential matters.
Attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills.
Strong independent judgement.

Qualifications:
Must pass all applicable background checks.
Must possess a valid driver's license from the state in which you reside.
Must be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
CPR and First Aid certification, and Safe from Harm Certified certification or attain same within 90 days of employment.
Valid Drivers' License and insured to provide transportation.
