Primary Duties and Responsibilities
A MHU Safety Tech is responsible for providing services that seek to create a safe and secure environment for the MHU. The Safety Tech undertakes activities designed to identify, deter, abate, or correct situations; both routine and emergent that are within the scope of responsibility for the MHU as they occur.
Qualifications
Must read, write, and speak fluent English.
Must possess excellent communication skills. Ability to write complete and accurate department reports.
Able to understand written, visual and other sensory stimuli.
Able to deal effectively with stressful/emergent situation and time constraints.
Able to logically solve problems and follow written and verbal instructions.
Able to perform duties in a multi-task environment with multiple priorities.
Able to work with all customers (associates, patients, physicians, public) and multidisciplinary team members.
Demonstrate a cooperative, courteous, dependable working performance.
Possess high integrity and maintain confidentiality at ALL times.
Prior to first scheduled shift, the MHST will be required to have completed the following:Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training and Understand of the following Policies: MHU #35 Use of Force, MHU #38 Assaultive Patient Management Protocol, MHU #37 Code Strong, SOP # 1-D-50-1 Dependent Adult Abuse and Child Abuse, SOP #1-R-50-1 Restraint and Seclusion

While performing the duties of this position, the Safety Tech is frequently required to stand, walk, run, and sit. The Safety Tech is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The Safety Tech must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
