This is a critical Smart Industrial knowledge leadership position that will be at the forefront of working with colleagues across the enterprise to build capabilities in support of the strategic data capture initiative as well as the JDPS data engineering and data analytics strategy to quickly unlock value for our customers by capturing and using the data we know we need, and by creating the ability to capture the data we don t yet know we need.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and operation of infrastructure supporting data pipelines, computation and visualization.
  • Work with stakeholders defining data requirements and identifying data for integration.
  • Gather requirements and business process knowledge in order to transform the data in a way that's geared towards the needs of end users.
  • Creates documentation to ensure smooth transition of data engineering work to production.

Required
Qualifications:

  • 5
    years of relevant experience
  • Experience developing and operating cloud-based systems
  • Experience with traditional and/or modern ETL tools
  • Experience in data processing in the Apache ecosystem (Spark, Avro, Hadoop, Kafka) with a preference toward systems in the AWS cloud environment. Experience with the Databricks application stack is also helpful
  • Operational experience with SQL and NoSQL (e.g. Cassandra, Mongo) databases
  • Experience developing, maintaining, and deploying data processing applications with Python

Preferred
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master s degree in Data Science, Data Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience in a related career field.
  • 4
    years Product engineering experience
  • Experience in data engineering, project execution, process improvement, working effectively with diverse global talent and cross functional teams.
  • Experience using Amazon AWS
